The Mask Bag:

Maria is loving the LV Pochette Mask bag so much that she’s forgoing her once concrete principle of avoiding handbags with logos and making this one a part of her everyday wear. And can we just add that we completely agree with her decision? The mask bag’s intricately styled sunbursts of color bring a certain playfulness to a seriously bold look.

What would Maria do? Rather than let her Mask bag do all the talking, Maria opts for a pair of MIA Shoes with elaborate beading and Balinese-inspired construction. The MIA Heritage Borneo in bronze effortlessly complements the light and chocolate browns of the bag, giving the brightly colored mask a little room to pop.

Fringe Statement:

Fringe is everywhere in Maria’s closet; handbags, shoes, sweaters…everywhere. Intermix’s asymmetrical suede fringe skirt is just another reason for her infatuation with these flouncy frills. The skirt’s varying hem and lengthy fringe tassels make it versatile for both day and night looks.

When she isn’t dressing it up with a pair of heels and a silk blouse, our fashion director takes the casual route with a chambray button-up and the MIA Game gladiator sandal in black. One of Maria’s faves of the MIA Spring 2015 line, the Game, takes the classic Gladiator up a notch with bungee cord straps and a sleek middle panel.

Lug It:

MIA Noti 2004-2014 Everyone loves a good throwback, especially when the 90s are involved. Lug bottom footwear is making a triumphant return with sandals, boots, heels and even oxford-style shoes. Maria knows a thing or two about lug bottoms. Especially since MIA recently brought back the Noti, the original fisherman sandal that first debuted in 1994, putting MIA Shoes on the map as the go-to for the fisherman style in the 90s. Check out the nostalgic photos of Maria and her daughter, Sydney, rocking the Noti then and now. *cries*

What does Maria love more than an original style? Updating it of course! White lug bottoms make for a simple yet game-changing update to the classic lug style. The MIA Nadie keeps things Retro 90s with its fisherman straps and buckle-closure, but features a white lug bottom for added drama, an excellent addition to any cool-girl look.
“The new updated versions of the classic keep me coming back for more!”

Athleisure:

With sophisticated Athleisure on the rise, it’s safe to say Maria has mastered this look from head to toe. Her current obsession is the Joseph crochet, midi-length dress that effortlessly clings to any shape in the most flattering way. Although the dress is elegant and undeniably chic, its ribbed collar and relaxed short sleeves give off an unexpected sporty vibe.

What better way to complement the sporty vibe than with a pair of Athleisure-inspired shoes like the MIA Heritage Sea? This sandal’s opulent design is the result of a combination of thick, leather and elastic straps and a flexible footbed with an athletic feel. Our fashion director finishes in first place when she chooses the Sea to complete her look.

Harlequin Glasses:

Ultra feminine Cat Eye or “Harlequin” glasses are perfect when it comes to adding finishing touches for a look. It’s only right that they round up Maria’s top five current obsessions, right? With Dita and Fendi rolling out unique frames in black, tortoise shell and metallic colors, Maria’s got a clear vision of the statement she wants to make in her specs.

When it comes to her ladylike frames, Maria doesn’t get too picky. Sometimes she’ll take the Boho Chic approach with a pair of embellished sandals like the MIA Rama or go for a more refined look with the MIA Isidora in taupe. One thing is certain, this style chameleon is obsessed!
