I first came across Kier’s profile while scrolling through tagged pictures of #MIAShoes on Instagram and was instantly (no pun intended!) enamored with her when I spotted her beautifully styled in the MIA GIGI Raffia Heels. She looked so fresh in her summer look that I had to reach out to her and find out a little bit more about who this girl was. A few DMs later, I found out that not only is she a beauty with stems to die for, but this down to earth girl knows how to balance her work and personal life - while looking effortless at both! Working on her blog KIER COUTURE full time, this Vegas/Delray-based babe has managed to build her obsession for fashion into a full time job, while showcasing her love for vintage glamour alongside her over the top personality and styling aesthetic - which we LOVE.

And this is why, we tapped KIERCOUTUREto be our first #IAMMIA girl; a woman who is meant to inspire us - and our solemates! - while bringing warmth, motivation for what they do, and most importantly, showcasing their unique fashion sense. Cross collaborating with this talented young lady, we sat down with Kier and learned a little bit more about who she was, her shopping obsessions, and how she’s managed to build herself up as a self-starting brand. Q: Describe a day in your life?A: I wake up with a Kombucha, brought to me in bed by my boyfriend. I’m not much of a morning person so it’s definitely a big help to start the day. I check Instagram and my schedule for the day; and while I eat breakfast, I’ll do any last editing for that day’s post before publishing it. I work out three days a week with my trainer in the morning, so as soon as I’m done with that I work on the computer: one day it’s responding to emails, another it’s editing video, it really just depends on the day. I usually lunch at home with my boy because I think ti’s important to take breaks otherwise I’ll start to feel like I’m burning out. After lunch though I continue working on styling looks or shooting more video content - all depends. Maybe we eat out twice a week or we’ll stay in and cook something up on the grill. And to finish the day, we relax with a little tv. I’m currently loving Queen of the South, Better Call Saul, and, of course, the Bachelorette. Q: What do you do for fun?A: Because I live in a beach town and the water is amazing, I take advantage of it. We love to ride our bikes and we’ll pack a light lunch and just relax, while spending the day in the ocean. Sometimes on our way home, we’ll walk through town and grab a casual dinner or a drink. And because we love to shop and travel, we try to do that as much as we can!

Q: What’s your personal style and what do you think it says about you?A: I’m definitely very classic with a flair for the eccentric. Although Coco Chanel recommends removing one item before leaving the house, I love to get a little theme-y and matchy-matchy with my looks. I believe it says that I’m fun and unique bold - both of which are very true. Q: How do you cater your shoe style choices? Like, do you wear sneakers with skirts? Clogs with socks?A: I love juxtaposition so I’ve definitely been known to wear tights with sandals. I often wear sneakers with skirts too. I also love to match my bag with my shoes, so there’s that matchy-matchy theme I love. Q: What’s your fondest memory with shoes?A: I remember being in Paris with my mom when I was 17 when I received my first pair of designer heels. I found these gorgeous lace peep toe stilettos with crystal embellishments - the prettiest shoes I’ve ever seen to this day. She got them for me and to this day, I still have them. I remember that same evening going to the hottest club in Paris in my new shoes and thinking it was one of the best days ever. And it was. That’s the thing about nice shoes, I love enjoying them rather than letting them just sit on a shelf. Pretty shoes should always be worn in my opinion!

Q: What does your closet and styling say about you?A: My closet says I am excessive, my styling says I am over the top. Both are true.Q: How would you say your style of shoes has changed over the years?A: It hasn’t changed much - other than experimenting with more minimal styles. I have always loved bold shoes and bright colors and I remember hating any shoe that appeared too “naked”.... like I thought a simple two-strap design was ugly and gross. Until an ex told me he loved them and I ended up buying a pair. Funny thing, I’ve been obsessed with them ever since and now own like six pairs of them today. Q: What are your favorite pair of shoes?A: Oh my goodness, how to choose! It might sound bizarre, but I actually have a particular pair of cork sandals with a thick strappy design set ona block heel, and I love that pair so much. They’re so comfortable and go with just about every summer outfit I own. Funny enough, when they went on sale I bought another identical pair so I could have two pairs…of the exact same shoe. (hey, can we blame her! When the shoe fits!!!)

Q: What’s your current go-to shoe?A: I love that low heels are so in style right now! Because I walk or ride my bike everywhere and I love heels so much, I’m currently living in my 2”slides from Forever 21. Q: If you could only wear one shoe for the rest of you life, which one would it be?A: My YSL Tribute sandals. They’re comfortable, classic and go with everything so probably them.

Q: What’s the most you’ve splurged on shoes and why?A: When I was addicted to two-strap sandals I bought the YSL Jane Sandals, that were $900. But they were so painful that i had to return them. At that price, shoes should be comfortable - there’s no excuse for them to be like concrete. I splurged thinking the high price meant better but that was a major lesson in shoe shopping for me.Q: How did you come to wear MIA shoes?A: I’ve actually had several pairs of MIA Shoes throughout my life. I recently saw the MIA GIGI RAFFIA SANDALS at Nordstrom and thought they were so adorable and would match all the basket bags that are in style so I had to have them!Q: What’s your favorite MIAShoe and why?A: It would be a close tie between the MIA GIGI Raffia Sandals or the MIA GAIL Denim Mules... but I think in the end the MIA Gail would win because they’re easy to style and so comfortable!
